Brisbane artist Steven Bowerman recently assigned Foto-Flicks to present a portfolio of around 50 pencil drawings as a DVD slide-show movie. Here's a rundown on how we went about producing our movie.
We figured we'd need around 400 images to produce a show which would run for around 25-30 minutes. After photographing the full size pictures on a digital camera, we set about retouching and sizing the images for DVD production.
The drawings were a dream to work with. There was so much happening in each picture, we were able to scan over half a dozen close ups using a flat bed scanner. These were used to move around in the picture and help tell the story behind each of these intricate artworks.

The backing music for our movie was a compilation from local musicians and royalty free tracks. The theme was futuristic and the mood trance.
The images were keyed with the music to create smooth transitions, but with a few surprise hits to generate excitement and some shock value.
